Prescription Organic Matter© (POM)

Organic Energy

POM is a mixture of high quality biologically active organic compounds from plants and other natural organisms. Improving soil with POM creates better water drainage, decreases soil compaction, aids in seed germination, and promotes a more vigorous, healthy root system for your turf. POM provides essential slow release organic nutrients that improve the natural biological activity in the soil.

Prescription Organic Matter

POM is applied at a rate of approximately 700 lbs. per 1000 square feet of lawn — equal to about a 1/4” thick application of POM over the entire lawn. A typical lawn of 5000 square feet would receive approximately 3,500 pounds of POM. This provides 1¾ tons of organic energy to convert the soil and stimulate the growth of your lawn.
