Natural Organic-Based Fertilizer Package

Our natural organic-based fertilization program is our most popular solution for urban lawns. It is compromised of anywhere between one and five visits. The fertilizer we use is made up of a combination of refined elements and milorganite, adding a level of organic material to your lawn which is missing in our synthetic program. This package also includes either spot or cover spraying for broadleaf weeds. Because of our commitment to pesticide reduction, we focus on spot spraying and only perform cover sprays if your lawn is completely overrun with weeds. With this package, your lawn care consultant will work up an Integrated Pest Management program for you, which will help reduce the number of weeds in your yard.

Synthetic Fertilizer Package

Our Synthetic, or refined elements fertilizer utilizes slow release nitrogen from urea to give your lawn the lovely green color you crave. This program ranges between one and five visits, and includes broadleaf weed control as needed. As with our organic-based program, we focus on spot spraying for weeds, and only perform cover sprays if your lawn is overrun with weeds. In addition, this package includes a customized Integrated Pest Management program which will help reduce the number of weeds in your yard.

Pre-emergent Herbicide

The first visit of both our Natural Organic-Based and Synthetic Fertilizer Packages consists of a pre-emergent herbicide application. This is a liquid application which prevents crabgrass and other annual weeds from germinating. It is important to remember that pre-emergent herbicides are relatively persistent and will prevent grass and other desirable seeds from germinating. Once the pre-emergent has been applied, it is important to water it in to the soil for maximum effectiveness.

Pesticide and Herbicide Free

More and more, people are looking to reduce their personal environmental impact. At Rainbow LawnCare, we want to help. Both our Natural Organic-Based and our Synthetic Fertilizer programs are available with no herbicides or other pesticides. These pesticide free programs are typically one to three visits, as they do not include the spring pre-emergent crabgrass application or the summer broadleaf weed control. Our Pesticide Free Package has an even stronger focus on Integrated Pest Management; your consultant will help you develop a plan which will help you minimize the weeds in your lawn and reduce the chance of disease taking hold.

Integrated Pest Management

Our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans are second to none. We will help you devise a plan which includes judicious applications of fertilizer, appropriate cultural practices, and sparing applications of broadleaf weed control (if necessary). Our IPM plans invariably will include recommendations for aeration and seeding, as these help alleviate conditions where weeds flourish, and aid in the growth of thick, healthy turf.
